Journalist and recovery activist Olivia Pennelle, hosted a captivating panel to discuss the impact of mental health on recovery and sobriety. This compelling forum featured LifeWorks Peer Support Specialist Geoff Vasile, activist Michelle Yang, author Dr. Kristine De Jesus, and podcaster Irina Gonzalez.

With their own lived experience at the forefront, the panel offered insight into ways mental health and addiction often overlap and how one condition can exacerbate the symptoms of the other.

One-third of people struggling with a substance use disorder also suffer from depression, and nearly 20 percent of Americans experience some form of anxiety. Managing mental health is often key to long-term recovery from addiction.
