Austin Mortgage Company Supports Affordable Housing with a $10,000 Donation to LifeWorks

March 2022 - Movement Mortgage’s philanthropic entity, Movement Foundation, has awarded LifeWorks with a $10,000 donation to help support the availability and development of affordable housing for youth experiencing homelessness. LifeWorks was nominated for the “Graceworks” grant by David Amelang, a Sr. Loan Officer at Movement Mortgage in Austin.

“The team at LifeWorks is thrilled that our longtime partners at Twelve Rivers Realty introduced us to David and the team at Movement Mortgage. It's an incredible honor to receive the GraceWorks award - the 100th one of 2021! - and to deepen our partnership with Movement Mortgage, the Movement Foundation, and KM Foundation,” Caroline Newman Phillips, LifeWorks Director of Sustainable Philanthropy, said. “Especially as housing costs continue to rise in the Austin community, these organizations' dedication to giving back so generously - and their support of the LifeWorks belief that everyone deserves a place to call home - has never been more important.”

The nomination was made with the support of Mike Frost at Twelve Rivers Realty, an agency with a longstanding history of supporting LifeWorks. Both Movement Mortgage and Twelve Rivers Realty are committed to dedicating financial support to organizations like LifeWorks, especially as the real estate industry in Austin continues to be extremely lucrative.

“As an industry that profits off the housing market in Austin, to be able to give back to LifeWorks as an organization that is assisting with the creation of affordable housing is our obligation and our duty to do,” David Amelang, Senior Loan Officer with Movement Mortgage, said. Staff from LifeWorks, Movement Mortgage, and Twelve Rivers gathered to celebrate the $10,000 donation on February 10th with a special check presentation.
