LifeWorks Home Improvement Challenge Recap

The 13th annual Home Improvement Challenge (HIC) was a great success, largely due to our wonderful sponsoring teams and the management of Sierra Vista Apartments. Each year, HIC brings together corporate and community teams to makeover apartments for youth previously experiencing homelessness. The sponsoring teams worked nonstop throughout the day to completely revamp their client’s apartment with new furniture, bedding, personal photos, TVs, accessories, cookware and more. Each team brought an extremely special touch to their décor. It is truly a magical moment to see the smiles on the faces of our clients as they walk into their newly furnished apartments.

Thank you to all of our 2018 HIC sponsors for their dedication to improving the lives of our youth: American Campus CommunitiesC3 PresentsCapital OneDellDPR ConstructionExperianH-E-BKline PropertiesrepublicPROMOS, Twelve Rivers RealtyUniversity Furnishings, and Whataburger.

Annual Home Improvement Challenge

HIC_logo_3.jpg

The Home Improvement Challenge (HIC) brings together corporate and community teams to makeover apartments for youth previously experiencing homelessness.

On September 8, seven teams made up of corporate and community sponsors will join seven clients to create life-changing experiences by transforming their apartments into a “home”.

Before the makeover happens, team members are paired with their client/family to get a feel for their likes and dislikes and what they’d ideally like their “new” home to look like. This gives a good idea to the sponsor teams of what kinds of colors, patterns and design elements to consider when shopping for the makeover.

After a long morning and afternoon of re-designing and setting up furniture and other household items, the big reveal is where the client and/or families get to see their newly furnished home.

We would like to thank the following Home Improvement Challenge 2018 sponsors for their commitment:
