Point In Time Count

PIT count.JPG

Every year the City of Austin conducts an annual Point in Time count. The Point in Time (PIT) Count is where individuals experiencing homelessness in the City of Austin are counted.

The data collected on this one night informs the Federal government how much money Austin needs to support programs and agencies like LifeWorks, for these individuals in the coming year.

If you have participated before, it is a lot of fun and if you haven’t, I would encourage you to volunteer. It takes over 600 volunteers throughout the city to make this happen.

There is an orientation for everyone who participates, no experience necessary, and you are never alone and always working in teams.

Please consider participating in the PIT Count by signing up below.

Lifeworks’ In Our Shoes Challenge Is An Annual Community-Building Campaign That Will Bring Together 10 Corporate And Community Teams, As Well As LifeWork’s Youth, For One Night.

The goal is to raise awareness of youth homelessness in Austin and galvanize the community as the city organizes to End Youth Homelessness by 2020.

Participants will have an opportunity to share a meal with our youth and hear their stories, while learning about their experiences with homelessness. Afterwards, participants will sleep outside, simulating what it is like to be homeless for a night based on youth input. All proceeds raised will support LifeWorks’ 17 programs that fall under Housing, Counseling, Education and Workforce.

We invite you and your company to participate in the first annual In Our Shoes Challenge.

Frosty Gives Back

Come join us this December for the 2nd annual "Frosty Gives Back" charity event Hosted by Twelve Rivers Reality and Mike Frost.

Last year was a huge success raising over $16,000 dollars for the three charities involved. This year, LifeWorks, Explore Austin and Hope Outdoor Gallery are the beneficiaries.

There are a lot of different ways you can help our three charity organizations while getting some cool swag and prizes. There will be a very unique silent auction, photo ops with Santa, a chance to purchase an "ugly" graffiti Christmas sweater created live by Zuzu Kelly Perkal and a number of other ways.

So come out and help support this great cause during the holidays and have a great time doing it! There is no RSVP, just show up ready to dance and have a great night. No cost for admittance, but donations are suggested.

Every little bit helps!
