Peer Support
Counseling Isn’t for Everyone. Try Peer Support.
What is peer support?
Sometimes, the best support comes from someone who has walked a similar path.
Our certified peer specialists have personal experience navigating trauma, substance use, or mental health challenges. They offer understanding, guidance, and support by drawing upon their own recovery journeys. They're not therapists, but they're a key part of the care team, offering support that often feels more relatable, more real, and easier to engage with. Services can include one-on-one session, support groups, or help navigating resources.
“They will laugh with you. they will joke with you. they will give you advice.”
— Nox, former LifeWorks client
There are two ways to get peer support at LifeWorks.
For LifeWorks Clients (Ages 16–26):
If you're already connected to LifeWorks, you can meet one-on-one with a certified peer. They’re here to listen, talk things out, and help you find resources that can make things easier.
For Youth 13–17 and Their Families:
Common Ground is a low-key and welcoming space for teens and caregivers to hang out, recharge, and get support. Drop in to relax, share what's on your mind, and connect with others who understand.
