Whether you’re staying on a friend’s couch, sleeping outside, feeling stuck at school or work, or just need someone to talk to, we’re ready to meet you where you are and help you find a way forward.

If you’re in Austin and between the ages of 16 and 26, support is available no matter what you’re facing.

Everyone's situation is different.
Here are some answers to common questions. If you have more, we encourage you to look through our specific program pages or give us a call.

Some LifeWorks programs, like peer support and our emergency shelter, also serve youth under 16. Youth and Adult Counseling is available to people of all ages.

If you’re 17 or younger and need a safe place to stay, LifeWorks can help. Call (512) 735-2400 and ask for the “Emergency Shelter.”
If you’re 18 or older, you can find a shelter in Austin and Central Texas by visiting this website.
According to HUD (the Department of Housing and Urban Development) you are homeless and eligible for LifeWorks support if you are “literally homeless” or “fleeing/attempting to flee domestic violence.”

Some services are open to anyone who needs them, like the Youth Resource Center, The Works Apartments, and more. Other programs may have specific eligibility requirements.
